My name is Dr. Emőke Takács, I graduated from the Faculty of General Medicine of Semmelweis University of Medicine in 1998, and in 2003 I passed the specialist examination in anaesthesiology and intensive care.
From 1998 I worked in the Central Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Unit at the Árpád Hospital.
In addition to intensive care, I mainly assisted the Traumatology Department as an anaesthesiologist.
From 2006 I worked at St John’s Hospital.
At that time I gained experience in gastric and colonoscopic anaesthesia.
I was also actively involved in the work of the Anaesthesia Outpatient Clinic.
As a medical student, I did several internships abroad: in London at Whipps Cross Hospital, in Malta, and then a semester fellowship at the University of Lille.
In 2011, I attended a training course on outpatient anaesthesia in Marseille.
I have been providing anaesthesia for gastro- and colonoscopy examinations at the ProctoMed Center since 2006.
Gastroscopy and colonoscopy can be very uncomfortable, especially if the patient has undergone abdominal surgery, which is why many of our patients request or sometimes we recommend that they have the examination performed under general anaesthesia.
In my work at ProctoMed Center, I believe it is important to gain the trust of our patients so that they feel safe and can prepare for gastroscopy and colonoscopy without worry.
I do my utmost to make sure that they have a painless and pleasant examination and leave feeling well after waking up.
I’m always pleased when patients wake up after anaesthesia and tell me how well they slept, without any discomfort.
I graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry of Semmelweis University in 2011, and since then I have been working as a dentist at the University’s Department of Prosthodontics.
In both fields, I keep abreast of scientific developments and regularly attend training courses and congresses.
