Ligasure hemorrhoid surgery
The Ligasure haemorrhoidectomy
It is a surgical cutting, haemostatic device consisting of a generator and a hand tool similar to a pair of fine scissors.
It has been in use since 1998.
The device measures the resistance of the tissue 3333 times per second and delivers energy accordingly.
It uses the tissue’s own substances (collagen, elastin) to ‘solder’ the tissue, which is formed by the pressure and heat.
The heat effect is minimal, so it does not cause extensive damage to the tissues.
We can operate quickly with virtually no or minimal bleeding.
For the safety of the patient and ourselves, we insert an absorbable suture into the supply vein of the removed haemorrhoid to avoid even the slightest risk of post-operative bleeding.
We have been using this method in our practice for more than 15 years and have performed thousands of operations with very good results.
The operation is almost bloodless and the recovery is faster with less post-operative pain.
We can also perform 1- or 2-way hemorrhoid removals under local anesthesia with mask anesthesia.
For 3-way hemorrhoid surgery, we use a mixture of anaesthetic and painkillers already given intravenously.
The patient is discharged home after 1-2 hours of observation.
