Fistulectomy – Flap plasty

Flap plastic surgery means flap plastic surgery.
In this type of rectal fistula surgery, the fistula passage is completely obliterated through the sphincter.
The inner mouth of the fistula is then closed first with a direct suture and then covered with a flap of rotated mucosa.
This will remove the connection between the anus and the abnormal duct.
The procedure is not easy and requires a delicate technique and a good knowledge of the sphincter system.
