HeLP laser fibre surgery for haemorrhoids

A special type of laser surgery for hemorrhoids is called.
HeLP (Hemorrhoidal Laser Procedure) is a special type of laser hemorrhoid surgery.
This procedure is specifically recommended for patients who have recurrent bleeding haemorrhoids and are on anticoagulation therapy.
The procedure involves using ultrasound flowmeters to locate the bleeding artery feeding the haemorrhoid and then blocking it from the mucosa with a laser.
Laser vascular occlusion is immediate and permanent.
The bleeding stops and no sutures or excision are needed.
